The Eleventh Hour — Black Women of Grace, celebrating Black women creating through writing, science, business, art, and healing
Black Women of Grace

THE ELEVENTH HOUR™

THE SHODIPO~ASIMOLOWO FOUNDATION

While the world sleeps she builds tomorrow.

THE ELEVENTH HOUR™

There is an hour when the world becomes quiet.

The children are asleep.
The workday is over.
The phone stops ringing.
The demands become still.

And for many Black women, that is when something powerful begins.

The notebook opens.
The idea takes shape.
The application gets finished.
The business plan is written.
The research begins.
The family problem gets solved.
The community program is imagined.
The prayer becomes a plan.

That is The Eleventh Hour.

THE ELEVENTH HOUR™ is a Black Women of Grace initiative created to protect, cultivate and celebrate the creative, intellectual and purpose-driven lives of Black women.

It recognizes a truth many women know intimately: sometimes discovering what you are meant to build requires becoming less governed by what everybody else thinks you should be.

That does not mean ignoring wisdom, accountability or health.

It means learning the difference between guidance that protects you and judgment that makes you smaller.

Black women have historically had their confidence called arrogance, their boundaries called hostility, their conviction called aggression, and their unconventional creativity misunderstood simply because it did not fit other people’s expectations.

The Eleventh Hour creates room before the criticism begins.

A woman can walk in with an unfinished thought and say:

“I think there is something here.”

And instead of immediately hearing why it cannot work, she hears:

“Show us what you see.”

Then we help her build it.

FROM SURVIVAL TO CREATION

The Eleventh Hour represents the transition from constantly responding to the world to intentionally shaping it.

From:

What will people think of me?

to:

What was I placed here to do?

It celebrates the women who create after everyone else has gone to sleep as well as women entering a second act, rediscovering themselves, changing careers, returning to school, building businesses, writing books, creating art, developing research or simply asking for the first time:

What do I want my life to mean?

You are allowed to arrive with the question.

11:11 — ATTENTION • ALIGNMENT • ASSIGNMENT

Within The Eleventh Hour, 11:11 serves as a symbolic reminder:

Look up. Listen. Something requires your presence.

It represents an intentional moment to reconnect with purpose, to examine what matters, to notice what keeps returning to your spirit and to decide what deserves action.

The symbolism is personal.

The work is tangible.

INSPIRED BY WOMEN WHO REFUSED TO SHRINK

The intellectual spirit of this initiative draws from women such as Judge Lynn Toler, whose work emphasizes self-knowledge, emotional intelligence and clarity of purpose, and Lauryn Hill, whose Final Hour asks deeper questions about what remains meaningful when status, performance and external approval fall away.

Their work raises a question that becomes central to The Eleventh Hour:

When the performance ends what actually matters?

Our answer:

What you built.
Who you helped.
What you learned.
What you left behind.

THE FOUNDATION PRINCIPLE

You cannot discover your assignment while constantly auditioning for everybody else’s approval.

And yet The Eleventh Hour never romanticizes exhaustion or illness.

Creativity deserves protection.

So does the woman carrying it.

We celebrate intensity without assuming every intense season is pathology and we encourage women to recognize when creativity has crossed into something that is harming sleep, judgment, relationships, safety or functioning.

Protect the brilliance. Protect the woman too.

WHO THIS IS FOR

  • The creator with an idea nobody understands yet.
  • The mother rediscovering herself.
  • The professional preparing for a second act.
  • The student imagining a different future.
  • The entrepreneur building after midnight.
  • The caregiver who has spent years taking care of everybody except herself.
  • The woman rebuilding after loss.
  • The woman whose life looks successful but whose spirit is asking for something more.
  • And the woman who does not yet know what she is becoming.

Especially her.

THE MESSAGE

WHILE THE WORLD SLEEPS

SHE BUILDS TOMORROW.

THE ELEVENTH HOUR™

That sacred space between what she was told to be and what she knows she can become.

DON’T CHASE VALUE, BRING VALUE!!!

With Grace, We Go!!!
